Stomach Ulcers – Papaya and Acidophilus
Papaya
The main substance of papaya is papain, the most important of six enzymes extracted from the papaya juice. The action of papain resembles that of the enzymes produced in the human body, and so it is also known as “vegetable pepsin”. The distinguishing characteristic of papain is that it remains active not only in the acidic conditions, but also in the neutral and alkaline solutions.
Papain can substantially improve digestion, especially people experiencing difficulty in digesting proteins; it breaks down proteins into amino acids and facilitates their rapid absorption by the body. Properly assimilated proteins are necessary to heal erosions and ulcers of the mucous membranes, because they are the main building material for new cells. Papain exhibits anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic activity.
Mega Acidophilus
Mega Acidophilus aims to restore the micro flora to improve the overall condition of the body. The complex includes bifido and lacto bacteria that normalize the function of the gastrointestinal tract, suppresses pathogenic microbes, protect the body from toxins and prevent metabolic disorders.
Bifidobacteria and lactobacteria make up about 85-90 %of the micro flora in the intestine of an adult person. They fight pathogenic microbes, bacteria and yeasts, suppressing their growth in the intestine while helping the growth of good prebiotic cultures.
They stimulate the lymphoid system, the production of interferon, immunoglobulin, lymphocytes , and antibodies that mobilize the immune system.
They participate in the synthesis and digestion of vitamins V,K, D, milk and folic acids, help in the synthesis of indispensable amino acids and better digest calcium.
They actively participate in the breakdown and absorption of nutrients, normalize the enzyme digestion of food, accelerate the hydrolysis of proteins and carbohydrates and produce lactose and metabolic enzymes in the intestinal tract over a long period of time. They impact on the lipid metabolism, improving the breakdown of fats, reducing cholesterol and normalizing the level of lipoproteins and phospholipids. They also prevent flatulence and regulate bowel movements.
