Drink Safe with the KOR One Hydration Vessel

Where we store our water for drinking is very important. Although not a popular knowledge to many but our water storage mediums could pose a huge risk to our health if not stored properly as these mediums are made up of materials that are highly sensitive to environmental conditions that can further deteriorate the quality of the water.

In the labels of the plastic water bottles we drink from, the manufacturers usually indicate that this bottle must be “stored in a cool, dry place” because they are aware that any other condition outside this direction could alter the healthy content of the water. But unfortunately, distributors and consumers fail to adhere to these instructions as they continuously expose this water bottles to heat (sunlight) thereby causing a chemical reaction between the the plastic bottle and the water it holds.

When plastic bottles are exposed to sunlight they release two carcinogenic chemicals – Bisphenol A (BPA) and Phthalates – into the water which intoxicates the liquid content.

BPA is a chemical that industries use to stabilize epoxy resins and polycarbonate plastics or hard plastics. It is also used in softer plastics to prevent cracking. When exposed to heat it often leeches into the water to create “faux estrogen” or what is also known as Bad Estrogen. High levels of circulating bad is recognized as a cause of ovarian, prostate and breast cancers.

Furthermore, BPA has been found to adversely affect fetuses, infants and children’s brains and prostate glands. Behavior disorders are also prevalent from BPA contamination leading to hyperactivity and aggression in children.

Pthalates are another chemical compounds used to make plastic flexible, particularly PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). These also leach in to the water contained in their bottles or water supplied by PVC pipes. The problems they cause in humans include: Liver Cancer, Testicular Atrophy and Sterility in Males.
